CLARKSTON–The Southeast Washington Economic Development Association has named Erika Stricker as Executive Director of the nonprofit which focuses on enhancing economic vitality and community development in the southeastern Washington counties of Asotin, Garfield, and Whitman.
"I am very much looking forward to continuing the amazing work this organization has done to strengthen the economic vitality and diversity of our beautiful little corner of Washington," Stricker said. "We will remain focused on providing the guidance and resources that are critical to the success of current and future businesses, as well as supporting the recreation and viticulture industries that make our region a premier tourism destination."
Stricker brings nearly a decade of experience in various aspects of community and economic development in the Lewis Clark Valley, having worked previously with Beautiful Downtown Lewiston Revitalization Corporation and most recently with the City of Lewiston's Community Development department. Erika recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Leadership and Management as well as professional certification through the International Economic Development Council.
"I have always had an appreciation for our region's diverse economy; we're fortunate to be home to some of the foremost leaders in agriculture, manufacturing and technology, and it's incredible how these industries have integrated and developed collaborative relationships," Stricker said. "However, I really must credit my experience with the Lewis Clark Valley Chamber of Commerce's Leadership LCV program with inspiring me to be more involved and actively participate in supporting the unique economic assets of our region. The learning experiences provided in that program are invaluable to anyone looking to become more involved in our community."
