POMEROY–The School District has recently hired a new Jr./Sr. High School principal, Dan Wendt.
The new principal for Pomeroy Jr./Sr. High School, Dan Wendt, is from Columbia Falls in northwest Montana and has been working in school administration for 14 years. He received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Accounting from Montana Tech, a Business Education degree from University of Montana, and a Masters in School Leadership from Montana State University. He is a former high school volleyball and basketball coach as well. Wendt stated that he loves working with students and making a difference. "I believe that students can be reached one person at a time," Wendt said.
Principal Wendt's hobbies include reading, geology, and playing sports. "I love small schools, and the interview felt like Pomeroy was family," Wendt said when asked why he chose to come. "I've really enjoyed getting to know the staff. I think it will be a fun place to be," Wendt said.
He replaces Amy Miller who has taken her next steps in her educational career.
In other business from the August 29 school board meeting, updated special education policy, and approved the opening of a revolving fund at Bank of Eastern Washington.
ial Education and Related Services for Eligible Students was updated to outline plans and clearly identify contact positions for special education programs that are already being implemented in PSD.
The board also approved opening a revolving fund at Bank of Eastern Washington. The fund will maintain a balance of $3,400. The current fund at US Bank will be closed after the new fund is opened.
The resignation of Kyle Kimble as assistant baseball coach was accepted.
