COLFAX–Senior Samuel Lamb finished 21st in the B South League Meet at Colfax Golf Club October 4. Lamb, Pomeroy’s sole entry, finished the 5,000-meter event in the field of 27 runners with a time of 24:42.4.
The District 7/9 Championships will be held today, October 13, with the start at Lybecker Field. The race will wend its way through Pomeroy’s neighborhoods via a circuitous route, eventually returning to the field for the finish., beginning at 3:30 p.m.
The Colfax run was won by sophomore Brendan Snekvik of Gar-Pal in 16:57.24. Second place was sophomore Kieran Snekvik of Gar-Pal, 16:58.14.
Schools at the Colfax event included Asotin, Colfax, Colton, Garfield-Palouse, Liberty (Spangle), Lind-Ritzville, St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse and Tekoa-Rosalia.
Oscar Dispenza finished 11th in the 1.6-mile, Middle School event, with a time of 10:55.46, in the upper reaches of the 47-runner field. It was won by Mason Kern of Asotin in 9:22.15.
The 3.1-mile course starts on the north side of the track in Lybecker Field, and goes one-plus lap on the track, then exits through the gate. Runners turn left and make a loop around the swimming pool then continue on 18th Street until reaching Columbia Street where they turn left. Down Columbia to 15th for a left turn on this first lap only. Southbound on 15th, the course goes through the City Park on the pathway and continues on Pataha Street to 18th, left turn to and west on Columbia to 12th Street, south on 12th, through the park and east on Pataha for two course laps. At the end of the second course lap. The course re-enters the track through the gate and runners go one lap to the finish line in front of the home grandstands.
