POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County Commissioners announced that construction has begun on the Pataha Fiber-to-the-Home project, and approved the 2023 budget.
Construction extending the fiber internet line out to Pataha has begun. The project is expected to be completed by January 31, 2023, with some weather days included in the calculation. The Northeast Garfield County fiber project contract has been signed and will go out to bid on design work. These bids are scheduled to be opened on December 4.
The Port commissioners approved a budget for 2023, including salary increases for staff and budgeting for attendance of up to 120 meetings by the commissioners. These meetings do not include the bi-monthly Port meetings.
Wholesail, the new tenant in the hut that houses the fiber internet co-location, has moved in and is paying rent of $1,000 per month.
