POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) signed a contract, discussed funds that the county will be receiving, and continued employee negotiations at their meeting on November 14.
The contract was signed with Tyler Tech for the purchase and installation of a Commissioner's Office Manager Program, which creates and indexes digital copies of the documents kept in the Commissioners' office such as minutes, contracts, and official letters. The cost for the program and installation is $23,000, which will come from the historic document preservation fund. Work on this program has already begun.
The county will receive funds from the American Rescue Plan Act Local Assistance and Trauma Assistance. The funds will be paid in two installments of $243,777.61. One will be received in 2022, the other in 2023.
The county's Employee's Group responded to the commissioners' salary increase proposal accepting the figures increasing salaries to 95% of the average of surrounding counties as determined by a wage study that compares both salaries and benefits or 6.5% whichever comes first, and requesting a cost of living increase of 8.7%. The commissioners responded with a proposal of 6.5% cost of living increase.
