Dollar General open for shopping

POMEROY-The Dollar General on Villard Street, on the east side of Pomeroy, is now open.

The national chain outlet is in the soft opening stage, open for business, but employees are stocking the shelves. Boxes of merchandise may be in the isles and some items may not be on the shelves yet.

Owned by private equity investors Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, Citigroup Private Equity, and G S Capital Partners, store's purpose is to bring a multitude of products to small communities such as food, snacks, health and beauty aids, cleaning supplies, basic apparel, housewares, seasonal items, paper products and other brand name items. The company has been serving communities since the founding in 1939.
