Elementary students perform holiday program

POMEROY–The Elementary School students performed their annual Holiday Program at the Pomeroy Jr/Sr High School on December 14.

The students presented by classes, each class performing two songs. The Transitional Kindergarten class taught by Adela Ledgerwood performed a Christmas version of the Hokey Pokey and Jingle Bells. The kindergarten class taught by Elizabeth Walder performed Old Toy Trains and On Christmas Morning and the Kindergarten class taught by Brooke Lovgren sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Frosty the Snowman.

The First-Grade class taught by Michelle Conn performed Silent Night and Feliz Navidad. The First and Second combination class taught by BJ Cannon sang Away in the Manger and That’s Christmas to Me. The Second-Grade class taught by Jennifer McKeehan performed You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch and Here Come’s Santa Claus. An intermission was held at this point to allow parents whose children had already performed to pick up their kids.

Following the intermission, the Third-Grade class taught by Katie Landkammer performed Deck the Halls and Feels like Joy. The Fourth-Grade class taught by Andrea Claassen sang When Christmas Comes to Town and Warm and Fuzzy.

The Fifth-Grade classes taught by Jennifer Maves and Annie McKeirnan performed together and sang Jingle Bell Rock and Leroy the Redneck Reindeer, featuring a special appearance of Corban Nelson as Leroy. The Sixth-Grade class taught by Krista Slaybaugh appeared as the finale and performed Run, Run Rudolph and Rocking Around the Christmas Tree.

The Grinch and several elves made an appearance in the school foyer, where cookies were also provided for the performers by the Pomeroy Parent-Teacher Organization.
