POMEROY–The second week of the Camas Prairie Shoot Competition (CPTA) on January 14-15, unseasonably warm weather made for good shooting conditions, availing Brian Bingman to post the first perfect 25 of the season.
The Junior Club did face some breezy conditions and rain at times on Saturday, but the hardy youth did turn in some good scores. Rowdy Cole managed a score of 19X25 in the 16-yard event to lead the division in the 12-year-old and under division, and Luke Collier posted an 18. In Handicap, Rowdy posted a 16 that was the top Score.
Sub Juniors were led in the 16-yard. event by the scores of 22 put up by Braxton McKeirnan and Sawyer Brenner. In Handicap, Gunner Magill posted the first perfect 25 by a youth shooter this season to lead the Sub Juniors. Braxton McKeirnan was runner up in that division with a 23. Nick Hastings and Ollie Severs had the top scores in the Junior 16 Yd. competition with scores of 21. Mason Garcia had the top Handicap Score for Juniors with a 21, Ollie Severs and Colby Ledgerwood posted 20s,
Three adult shooters, Buck Geiger, Erin McCabe, and Thomas Warren, posted perfect 25s for the Club on Sunday. Brian Bingman, Josh Hames, Kenny Bott, and Wayne Tetrick missed one target each for scores of 24. In Handicap Buck Geiger, Brian Bingman, Wayne Tetrick, and Mason Blachly all posted perfect 25s.
In Continentals Brian Bingman posted the first perfect 25 of the Season, while Clark Capwell, Robert DesJardin, and Justin Dixon missed just one target for scores of 24.
Buck Geiger and Brian Bingman completed probably the best individual performances by any PGC shooters in several years by missing only four targets of 125 on the Day. Geiger led the Doubles with a score of 48 and Bingman and Jim Adams put up scores of 47.
After two weeks of the CPTA competition the Pomeroy Senior Club is in sixth place in the 24 Club race, and the Juniors are in eighth place.
