POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County Commissioners discussed the creation of a Broadband Action Team, finishing the Pataha broadband project, and passed a resolution at their meeting on January 17.
The Port will be involved in the Broadband Action Team (BAT) for Garfield County that is being convened, but they will not be taking the lead. Garfield County will be the lead entity, with County Commissioner Jim Nelson heading it up.
The Fiber-To-The-Home broadband project that has been constructed in Pataha only has splicers left to install and then it will be finished. The splicers are expected to be completed by January 20.
The commissioners passed resolution 2023-1, which changes the maintenance worker schedule to add hours to the spring and fall flex schedules, a four-day work week in the summer, and increase the maximum weekly hours from 22.5 to 24.
