POMEROY– The Pomeroy City Council accepted a bid for the summer seal coat project at a continuation of their monthly meeting on April 17. The low bid was provided by Idaho Asphalt at $85,233.75. Idaho Asphalt did not submit a bid security bond with their bid. The council waived the bond requirement and authorized Mayor Paul Miller to sign the bid.
Council approved a variance request and agreed upon selling the site of an old reservoir at their meeting on April 11.
Scott Basinger's request for a variance at the Chard building on Main Street waiving the city code requirement of providing 1.5 off-street parking spaces per apartment was approved, with the caveat of up to five apartments. The variance does not change any parking limits on Pomeroy's streets.
The site of a decommissioned reservoir on the hill above 17th street consisting of approximately 7,000 square feet and an old building was discussed at the meeting. The council agreed to sell the property at the going rate for pastureland of $330 per acre if they received an offer. Although there has been interest raised, no offer has been officially made to the council.
Bids for the 2023 summer sealcoat project will be discussed at a continuance of the meeting on April 17.
