POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County commissioners discussed a lapsed election at their meeting on June 6, and discussed the kitchen remodel at the United States Forest Service building and the end date of drop provision for the Pataha phase of fiber internet installation at their meeting on June 20.
The Commissioner position currently held by Matt Herres was not filed on for election, and so the election is deemed lapsed according to RCW 29A.24.201, according to the minutes from the Port's June 6 meeting. The position will be on the ballot of the 2025 November General Election as a Short and Full term. Until then, incumbent Commissioner Herres will continue to serve in the position.
The kitchen remodel at the USFS building has been finished, at the cost of $3,440.28 not including a 5% retainage fee.
Drops for the Pataha fiber internet will continue to be provided by the Port until December 31.
The Port commissioner meeting scheduled for July 4, will be canceled. The next meeting will be held on July 18.
