Maureen Scoggin retires as Elementary Librarian and Art Teacher

POMEROY–The Pomeroy School District (PSD) board of directors accepted the resignation of Maureen Scoggin and approved a bid for re-roofing the Elementary school at their meeting on June 27.

PSD accepted Maureen Scoggin’s resignation as Elementary Librarian and art teacher. Scoggin has retired after many years of teaching at Pomeroy Elementary School. Her positions will be filled in-house.

The board approved a re-roofing bid from W. McKay Construction out of Kennewick for $239,484. Gutters and downspouts will be replaced at the same time, also by W. McKay Construction. The cost for replacing the gutters and downspouts is $38,029 not including tax.

PSD passed resolution 312, an inter-fund loan of $350,000 from the General Fund to the Capital Project fund to cover roofing costs. Also passed was resolution 3013, a budget extension for the expense of the roof.
