Wendt resigns; two new parapros join staff at Pomeroy Schools

POMEROY–The School District (PSD) Board of Directors has accepted High School Principal resignation; hired two Paraprofessionals and a Junior High Basketball Coach at their meeting on August 29.

Dan Wendt has resigned as Pomeroy Jr/Sr High School Principal. Rachel Gwinn is assuming the duties of High School Principal as well as Elementary Principal and PSD Superintendent.

Jaden Steele and Hannah Ranes will be the two newest Title 1 Paraprofessionals, and Brock Ledgerwood will be the Junior High Boys' Basketball Coach.

The board approved a renewal of the lease agreement for the Shepherd Fields. The new lease will expire in 2046.

Three resolutions were also approved. Resolution No. 315 is a budget extension for the ASB fund for $76,000. The extension is required due to several extracurricular entities having an increased attendance at state and national conventions. Resolution No. 316 is an inter-fund transfer of $15,000 to the Capital Project fund. The transfer is done yearly to maintain funding for projects. Resolution No. 317 is an inter-fund transfer of $10,000 to the Transportation Vehicle Fund. It is also a yearly transfer done to keep up with the depreciation of vehicle value.

Further business handled at the meeting was approval of a surplus list consisting of 50 Lenovo N22 Chromebooks, 36 Lenovo N36 Chromebooks, and 52 desks with attached chair and basket.
