Lady Pirate volleyball comes home–finally

The Lady Pirate Varsity volleyball team played their first home match in a month when they took on Colton on Tuesday, October 17 and the team is looking forward to post-season play.

This week the Lady Pirates will host two crucial games on the Pomeroy court, St. John/Endicott-LaCrosse and Tekoa-Rosalia. Pomeroy is in fourth behind second-place SJEL and ahead of sixth-place T-R.

Back in September at Colton, the Lady Pirates played five games with them and this home match provided just as much volleyball. The Lady Bucs again battled the Lady Wildcats to five games and went back and forth 20-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-21 before dropping the fifth set 11-15.

"We had some really good stretches of play but were ultimately done in by too many unforced errors," said Head Coach Adam Van Vogt. "We are making a lot of positive plays but overall consistency and the ability to get a big point when we need it are things we need to work on as we head into the last week of the regular season."
