Court Security Project to include two more secure access doors

POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) approved an addition to the court security project, additional information to directional signage, and an inter-department reimbursement at their meeting on November 6.

Part of the security updates in the court security project includes installing a secure access key card opening to several doors. The commissioners approved including two more doors on their list of updates. Installation and equipment for the two doors will add approximately $6,000 to the total project cost. The project is being funded partially through a Rural Court Security grant and partially through Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Funding.

In accordance with a request from the Washington State Department of Licensing the BOCC approved adding vehicle licensing information to the Auditor's Office listed hours at the Garfield County Courthouse.

The board also approved reimbursement for time and labor for Garfield County Road Crew members while moving a new shed out to the Transfer Station. The November 13 BOCC meeting has been canceled due to multiple board members' absence.

The next meeting will be held on November 20.
