Trio makes All-Opponent Team; Van Vogt shares Coach of Year honors

POMEROY–The Pomeroy Lady Pirate Volleyball Team had three players named to the SE 1B All-Opponent Team for the Wheat Division, and Pirate Head Coach Adam Van Vogt was name Co-Coach of the Year. Recognition was made during the District Tournament last Saturday in Dayton.

Haliee Brewer, Hannah Bagby, and Taylor Gilbert were named to the Wheat Division All-Opponent Team.

"This was the second year in a row Haliee and Taylor made all-league," said Van Vogt.

The coach was one of three Wheat Division coaches recognized as Co-Coaches of the Year. The others were McKinzie Turner of Oakesdale and Jenn Johnson of SJEL.

"I'm honored to have my peers select me for this award and I believe I won it as a reflection of how people viewed our improvement over the course of the year," Van Vogt said. "We improved markedly as the season went along and an award like coach of the year is really a reflection on our girls and the job they did this year."
