Central Ferry dock repairs discussed

POMEROY–The Port of Garfield County commissioners passed two resolutions and accepted a preliminary budget, as well as discussed repairs at the Central Ferry boat dock at their meeting on November 7.

The Port boat dock at Central Ferry is in need of repairs. Port Manager Diane Ruchert has been in conversation with the offices of State Representative Mary Dye, Congressional Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers and Senator Patty Murray about funding for the project.

The commissioners approved Resolution 2023-7, adopting rules from Garfield County’s Hazard Mitigation Plan particularly regarding the flood plain. They also approved Resolution 2023-6, creating an employee wage change for an employee who passed a probationary period. In further business, the commissioners also approved a preliminary budget for 2024.
