Pomeroy FFA Program to receive $80,000 grant

POMEROY–The Pomeroy FFA Chapter will receive an $80,000 CASE (Curriculum for Agriculture Science Education) Capital Equipment Grant, which will be shared by both agricultural programs, announced local School District Superintendent Rachel Gwinn this week.

"We are so excited to announce that our Pomeroy FFA program is receiving $80,000 in grant money," said Gwinn.

Kristina Knebel, Career and Technical Education Director, wrote and submitted a grant application for the CASE Capital Equipment Grant through the Washington FFA Capital Budget Grant program.

Knebel's program will receive $40,000 of the $80,000 for and FFA Advisor Kyle Kimble will receive the other $40,000 for his Agriculture Education program. The grant funds will be used to purchase equipment specific for the (CASE) classes.

"We also want to recognize Jesse Taylor, Executive Director of the State FFA Foundation, the Washington FFA Foundation, and the Washington State Legislators for funding these grants for ag programs," said Gwinn.
