POMEROY–The Garfield County Hospital District Board of Commissioners (GCHD) passed a preliminary budget for Phase Two of the electrical project; signed a letter accepting continued accounting services; and approved the reappointments of several staff members at their meeting on December 4.
Phase Two of the electrical project currently includes renovating the rose garden into an imaging suite complete with a CT scanner. The District commissioners passed a preliminary budget of $3,000,000 for the project, providing that $2,000,000 of the funds be sourced from grants and donations. The GCHD has conducted a debt capacity study that shows the district can carry a loan of $1,600,000 which is being considered as a funding source. "The community needs it," Commissioner Steve Cannon stated regarding the CT scanner. Garfield County Memorial Hospital is one of the few hospitals in the area that do not have one.
The commissioners accepted an engagement letter from their current accounting provider DZA, extending services through 2024. The services will cost $43,750.
Four Memorial Hospital employees were reappointed: Dr. Olympia Stafford, MD; Marybella Dodson, NP; Courtney Travis, NP; and Allyson Redman, NP.
The District also passed resolution 23-10, adopting the county-wide hazard mitigation plan.
