Spring's a-comin'

Found by Marvin Scoggin on January 28 at his home on Scoggin Ridge approximately 15 miles south of Pomeroy, this buttercup holds the record as the earliest one he has seen. Scoggin recalled having seen them in February in previous years, but never January. Scoggin compared the recent warm spell with the subzero temperatures experienced only weeks before.
