POMEROY–The Evening Star Lodge No. 30 Secretary Steve Kazda presented two bikes to two student Bikes for Books winners Aria Alsup and Maverick Stroisch.
Aria Alsup, a second-grade student of Mrs. Ledgerwood and daughter of Rustin and Andrea Alsup; and Maverick Stroisch, a third-grade student of Ms. Landkammer and son of Eric and Maquella Stroisch, were the two winners of the January Bikes for Books program.
Participating students must reach their weekly reading goal of 100 minutes to enter the drawing each week. Then, twice a year, two names are drawn from those entries to receive a bike each.
Evening Star Lodge No. 30 sponsors the Bikes for Books program which encourages students to read. "Pomeroy Elementary is very lucky to have such a great organization support our students in their reading accomplishments," said Rachel Gwinn Pomeroy District Superintendent.
