POMEROY-The Garfield County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) discussed the grandstand replacement project, a grant for sidewalk re-concreting, and a swap meet at the Garfield County Fairgrounds at the meeting on February 20.
Deconstruction of the current grandstands at the Fairgrounds has begun. Most of the planks and angle irons will be repurposed by the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum for a sawmill display. The arrangement will lower costs of the deconstruction part of the project.
The Harold and Helen Shepherd Foundation has granted the county $25,000 for sidewalk repairs. The selected areas in need of re-concreting will cost an estimated $10,000. The board discussed other places that may need concrete.
The EWAM will host a swap meet at the Fairgrounds on June 29-30. The EWAM will rent facilities at the Fairgrounds for the event.
