POMEROY–The Community Scholarship Dinner is planned at Maple Hall on March 9 at 5:30 p.m. this year.
The Community Scholarship was created in 2019 by Alex Bremer as a senior project, and has since been other senior projects, continuing to make available scholarship funds for seniors who followed in his footsteps.
The graduating senior class will have a Meet and Greet be present to discuss and share their future goals and plans with attendees.
To qualify for consideration for the scholarship, Pomeroy High School (PHS) seniors must submit a written letter to the scholarship committee telling a bit about themselves, including a description of their personal and community accomplishments. In addition, they will attend the Community Scholarship Dinner, to present visual boards exhibiting photos and comments of their life over the years (set-up on March 8 at Spinners Hall), and participate in the meet and greet at the event.
Scholarships will be awarded at graduation.
Presale tickets ($10) are available by calling Lori Flynn at 509-780-1368 or can be purchased at the door for $15.
Community Scholarship Wagons drawing will take place the night of the event after dinner.
All proceeds will go to the scholarship fund.
