POMEROY-The Garfield County Hospital District Board of Commissioners (GCHD) announced a new go-live date for the dialysis and tele-nephrology programs and discussed the imaging suite project at their meeting on April 1.
Due to a delay in water testing caused by expired samples, the dialysis and tele-nephrology programs are scheduled to begin on May 1, instead of the earlier date of April 1.
The GCHD has received 22 letters from the community supporting the proposed imaging suite that would contain a CT scanner and an upgraded X-ray machine. The project is currently in a pre-design stage to prepare schematics for grant applications. Public concern has been raised regarding the projected 3.8 million cost of building the suite. The commissioners stated their openness to researching options that may bring the cost down.
The district passed resolution 24-02, reducing prices on items listed as surplus by resolution 23-05 that was passed on May 1, 2023. Resolution 24-02 lowers the price on an FG2500 fuel tank to $2,000 and a 1974 tilt deck trailer to $3,000.
