Four Pirate golfers slated for district

CLARKSTON–Four Pirate golf team members are district bound.

Pirate golfer Kiersten Bartels finished in fourth place among the girls in the Southeast 1B Sub-District tournament at Clarkston's Red Wolf Golf Course on May 6, said Coach Al Damron. Bartels came in with a score of 112. Teammate Elena Morfin carded a 113 for fifth place and a spot at District.

Pirate Reggi Ott's 102 was good enough for fifth place, Damron said. Grayson Slaybaugh tied for ninth.

Fourteen boys and seven girls advanced to next week's District Tournament at Sage Hills in Warden, Wash., Damron pointed out. That golf match will result in six boys and five girls, plus an alternate for each, advancing to the State Tournament in Tumwater May 21-22.
