Nicholas Bryson–Peola Cemetery My Name is Nicholas Bryson. I am a diligent high school student, and for my senior project I chose to restore and tidy the Peola Pioneer Cemetery. I began by researching proper cleaning techniques and created a detailed plan. I spent weekends and afternoons mowing and weed whacking. These efforts were slow, but I saw gradual improvement. Many troubles I faced were tough to overcome. Tough weeds and shrubs would stand up to my mower and weed eater. Most times cleaning was attempted, a layer of snow would cover the workspace. Many people heard of my project and offered to help, which I was grateful for. This project wasn't easy, but in the end, I'm glad I chose it.

Jaycee Ames–Advertising Boards Jaycee Ames's senior project was the advertising boards at the football field/track, gym, and baseball/softball fields. She collected money from businesses that sponsored a sign and ensured the boards were placed in the correct location for each sport season. Jaycee spent time walking around town and talking to companies asking for support. Out of town businesses were also contacted by Jaycee. The money collected is used to pay officials for all sporting events in Pomeroy.

Cash Copher and Tyler Slaybaugh–Peola Pioneer Cemetery Our senior project was to make a map holder for the Peola Pioneer Cemetery to replace the old one. Throughout the course of five weeks, we constructed the map holder from scratch, and all the materials were donated to us by Pomeroy Grain Growers. We choose this project to serve our community as well as the friends and family members of the people who are buried at the cemetery. The project was brought to Cash by Mrs. Wolf from Leta Travis. Tyler then joined Cash in this project. Our project had taken much time and effort with a lot of elbow grease to make this look as good as it does now.

Trace Roberts and Ollie Severs–Edging Baseball Fields Our Senior Project was edging the Boys' Varsity Baseball Fields. This included measuring out the correct dimensions for the field around home plate, the pitcher mound, and the baselines, creating a straight line to cut the old grass out with our cutting tools, and using the old edge to use as excess dirt that would be shoveled back into the new edge. We both have been a part of the baseball programs throughout our youth and are very thankful for the many lessons that have been learned on and off the field. It was important to us both to be able to give back to the programs and people who have done so much for us during our time in the community. We want to extend our appreciation to Charlie Caldwell, Shane Severs, and Mike Gwinn for their donations and guidance during the project.

So, I Made it my mission to collect non-perishable donations that were not expired as well collecting monetary donations that I took and went to purchase a list of items that they were in major need of for their shelves. I had boxes set up at Dollar General, Pomeroy Food Center and Holy Rosary Catholic Church. I ended the project with collecting an ending amount of 1,100 pounds of food.
