A group of local residents plans a monthly event called "Pomeroy Art Walk-Pub Crawl", starting June 5. Jamie Carothers, one of the organizers, said the walk-crawl will take place the first Thursday of each month through August. The event celebrates "the availability of three eating and drinking establishments, and wonderful art, both in galleries and the new neon" the organizers said.

For the second consecutive year, Pomeroy High School senior Kelan McKeirnan returned from the state Class B track meet with an event championship. Kelan won the 800-meter run. He also finished third in the 600. In the 3200, in which he placed first last year, Kelan was eighth.

The fair association board adopted a musical package of the "R.C. Bannon" group for Saturday and the CrossRoads and the "Country Bugs" on Sunday during the Garfield County fair in September. R.C. Bannon is a vocalist and song writer and the show is said to be comedy and musical variety, although the group is basically country. The Country Bugs are a group of youngsters who are said to be excellent performers. The CrossRoads, a light gospel style group, performed here two years ago and were a hit.

Newest family to make their permanent home in Pomeroy are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harris, formerly of Clarissa, Minnesota. The Harris family and their two children, Bruce, seven, and Patricia, 2 and a half years, have purchased the Leslie Krouse home on Baldwin Avenue. Mr. Harris has begun his duties in the Potlach Yards, Inc. He is a former lumber dealer in Minnesota.

The Mayview Grange has engaged a Lewiston vaudeville show to appear as one of the attractions at the annual picnic this year, to be held June 6. A program will be given in the forenoon. A picnic dinner will be enjoyed at noon. There will be dancing in the afternoon and at night. The music will be furnished by the Wilson orchestra of Pullman.

Argus-Albert Long of Pomeroy is in the city to look after the construction of a threshing machine that he recently patented. The new fanning mill factory will make the first machine. It is a sort of double action, double motor contrivance warranted never to wear out or get out of order. It is very promising on paper, but has never had a practical test.
