POMEROY–City of Pomeroy Public Works' Mike Lockard, and RPW Engineering Ray Watson, reviewed the City Pool plans to ensure a safe swim season this year.
"Pomeroy High School has turned out some pretty great grads over the years," said Wendi Watson in a Facebook post. "Here's two from 1986, working together to ensure our city pool is safe and usable for another year. Ray Watson at RPW Engineering and Mike Lockard from City of Pomeroy Public Works."
The community appreciates the City of Pomeroy for making sure our pool is safe and ready for another season. Lockard stopped by the RPW office with concerns for the safety of his crew after spotting new leaks in the basement of the pool, Watson said. The good news is the damage is not structural, and can be fixed next year with a waterproofing overhaul.
"I think it's important for the community to see all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into keeping our swimming pool up and running," said Watson. "Mike saved time and money when he found the 1956 structural plans for the pool. A quick review by the Engineer, and everything is good to go."
Keeping the pool operational is a labor of love. If you see one of the city guys working around town, give your appreciation to them for saving summer.
