Grandstand renovation will not stop Landkammer firework show

POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) discussed fireworks, accepted a hay bid, and approved purchase of a door at their meeting on June 24.

The Landkammer firework show will be held on July 5, at the Garfield County Fairgrounds, despite the grandstand renovation. “We don’t have bleachers out there yet,” Commissioner Justin Dixon said. He encouraged attendees of the show to bring their own chairs or be prepared to sit on the grass.

The BOCC accepted a bid from CX Ranch for the Fairground hay crop. The bid is for $140 per ton, and was the only bid received.

The commissioners also approved the purchase of a door with fans for a server room in the Garfield County Courthouse. The fans will cool the servers, which has been cooled by leaving the door open. The commissioners set aside $668 from the Local Assistance and Tribal Consistency Funds for the new door.
