WALLA WALLA–Blue Mountain Community Foundation announced that a fund established by Puget Sound Energy is accepting applications for up to $33,000 to benefit wildlife and citizens of Garfield County by supporting “stewardship” (management, monitoring, restoration, enhancement, protection from degradation) of high-value habitat in Garfield County such as, but not limited to, upland habitats, including grasslands, the Foundation announced June 25. The application to apply for funds is available on Blue Mountain Community Foundation’s website http://www.bluemountainfoundation.org.
Project proposals will be accepted through BMCF’s online application process until September 23, 2024. The application can be found under the “Grants” tab under “Grant Opportunities.” Qualifying applications will be reviewed by a committee consisting of a Garfield County Commissioner, a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife representative, a Puget Sound Energy representative, a wildlife-oriented organization, and a member that represents the public-at-large. Awards will be announced as early as October 7, 2024.
