POMEROY-The Alvin Landkammer Firework Show blasted through the sky above the Garfield County Fairgrounds on the night of July 5. This year the show was dedicated to the memory of Angie Roosevelt-Lytle, a long-time supporter of the firework show and sales.
Approximately a week before the Fourth of July, the spangled booth went up in the parking lot of the Pirate Pit Stop on Main Street. The fireworks sales proceeds go toward next year's Alvin Landkammer Memorial Scholarship. The 2024 winners of the scholarship are Natalie Fuchs, Hannah Bagby, and Trace Roberts, all Pomeroy High School graduating seniors.
After selling fireworks up to the end of the Fourth of July, the Landkammer crew put on a nearly two-hour show at the Fairgrounds. The show was well attended by Pomeroy residents.
