POMEROY––The Garfield County Hospital District is asking the community’s involvement through establishment of an Community Advisory Panel, says Hospital CEO Mat Slaybaugh.
“We are inviting you to participate in the betterment of your local hospital,” Slaybaugh said. “To gain additional perspective and input from the people we serve, Garfield County Hospital District is establishing a community advisory panel.”
The purpose of this panel will be to give your opinion and feedback on a wide variety of topics relating to the Hospital District’s current and future operations, Slaybaugh said.
Panel members would be asked for their advice on new service lines, building projects, quality improvement, patient experience, process improvement and other aspects, he said. “We want to know what the whole community thinks about how we can improve,” Slaybaugh said.
The panel would consist of approximately 12 people who would meet with hospital leadership on a quarterly basis. Slaybaugh is hoping to find community members of various backgrounds, ages, and industries to ensure good representation, even those who don’t currently use any of the Hospital District’s services. Involvement would be voluntary and Slaybaugh hopes members will continue to participate for multiple years. There is no set time commitment.
