National Night Out enjoys fine weather

POMEROY-Beautiful weather gave a pleasant atmosphere to National Night Out, held in the Pomeroy City Park on Aug. 8. The temperature was warm with a delightful breeze, and families from Garfield County and beyond turned out to enjoy the evening. Bees also turned out to enjoy the food, bombing burgers and making a nuisance of themselves around the covered seating area. Burgers were available, flipped by Garfield County Sheriff's Deputies, as well as chips and drinks. Garfield County Fire District #1 brought their 'flaming house' game and gave fire engine rides, Catalyst Youth Ministries brought a bouncy house that was in perpetual use, and several entities in the county had booths.

At National Night Out were the Garfield County Hospital District, Garfield County Public Health District, Pomeroy Partners for Health Families who passed out t-shirts, Pomeroy Church of the Nazarene, The Community Sexual Assault Program, Aging and Long Term Care, Garfield County 911 services, and Inland Power. Garfield County Sheriff's Deputies and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife police officers mingled with the attendees. The Sheriff's Office also had several patrol vehicles on scene that were open for viewing.
