POMEROY-The Community Thanksgiving Service sponsored by the Garfield County Ministerial Association and held at the Pataha Flour Mill on Nov. 24 was attended by over 100 people.
The meal was a potluck style, with Pomeroy churches' membership each responsible for a different food group. The program consisted of several group songs, led by Westelle Scoggin. Pastor Jon Van Vogt of The Mill Fellowship played the piano and Maria Dispenza played the organ. Barbie Sharp sang 'Count your Blessings', and Noel and Alayna Steynor sang 'Blessed Assurance'. Pastor Stan Christopherson of the Pomeroy Church of the Nazarene brought a message regarding thankfulness, both when all is well and "when life just stinks".
