POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) held a public hearing regarding the 2025 budget, the six-year transportation improvement plan and discussed planning commission meetings at their meeting on Dec. 16.
A public hearing was held regarding the 2025 budget. No public comment was brought forward. There was also no public comment regarding the six-year transportation improvement plan public hearing. Both matters will be addressed at the next BOCC meeting.
The commissioners discussed concerns raised about use of parliamentary procedure during the planning commission meetings. The meetings that have been held on Dec. 4 and 11 were work session meetings, thus requiring less parliamentary procedure according to Robert's Rules of Order. The planning commission meeting scheduled for Dec. 18 is also a work session meeting.
Also discussed at the meeting was the County Road crew's efforts in preparing for winter weather events. Graders are being equipped with snow plows and several members of the crew are receiving training on plowing snow.
