Taylor and Warren appointed to county boards

POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) appointed two members to county boards, passed the 2025 budget, and approved inter-fund transfers at their meeting on Dec. 23.

The BOCC appointed Dave Taylor to the county Planning Commission. Taylor will fill a vacancy left by Pat McGreevy’s resignation. “Dave has been attending planning commission meetings as a liaison, so he’ll be able to jump right in,” Commissioner Justin Dixon stated. The board also appointed Justin Warren to the Board of Adjustments to fill a vacancy left by the resignation of Clay Barr.

The commissioners passed resolution 2024-35, establishing Garfield County’s 2025 budget. The BOCC also passed resolution 2024-34, approving both the six year transportation plan and a construction plan that will be active from 2025 to 2030.

In further business, the commissioners approved three inter-fund transfers to create a more accurate paper trail: a building permit expense from the current expense fund to the building permit fund, wage expenses from E911 fund to the dispatch fund, and fair fund postage expenses from the Eastern Washington Agricultural Museum fund to the Fair fund. The commissioners also approved an updated personnel policy that will go into effect on January 1, 2025.
