After accepting Lovgren's resignation as planning commissioner, the BOCC decided they will fill the open position at their next scheduled meeting on Feb. 3. Interested applicants can submit letters to the Garfield County Public Works department or to the BOCC directly.

The commissioners approved surplus of over 400 sticks of wooden post guardrail. The sticks were valued at $25 each and will be sold with a limit of 50 sticks to a person. Money from the sales will go into the equipment rental and revolving (ER&R) fund. The county will keep 100 sticks for any repairs needed on the wooden post sections of guardrail.

The BOCC also approved seven resolutions. Resolution 2025-02 updates the county procurement policy. Resolution 2025-03 retro-sets federal equipment rental rates for 2024, including values and three years of history on all the county's Public Works equipment. In further business, the BOCC approved adding Garfield County Public Works as a user to Columbia County's GovPilot account as part of the pre-existing contract for building inspection services. This will allow the Public Works to process and receive payments for building permit applications online. Paper applications will still be accepted and processed in-office.
