POMEROY–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) discussed temporary closure timing of license processing in the Garfield County Auditor's office, drafting a letter of support for the Blue Mountain Artisan Guild, and approved corrections to two invoices at their meeting on Jan. 21.
Due to Washington State Department of Licensing moving to a new software, the county auditor's office is scheduled to temporarily stop processing licenses on Feb. 14. The staff will undergo training on the new software and will reopen licensing services on Feb. 18.
Vonnie Mulrony requested a letter of support from the County for BMAG's plan to purchase the vacant building adjacent to the BMAG on Main Street. Mulrony stated one of the uses being considered by the BMAG board for the building is a studio workspace. There is currently insufficient space at the BMAG for much studio work, nor is there sufficient storage. Mulrony also stated the project to be an effort for "preservation and beautification of Main Street" since the building is currently vacant. The BOCC did not make a decision on the letter of support.
The commissioners approved corrections to two invoices that were filed with incorrect bar numbers. The first invoice was for $345, the second-a work-for-others invoice-was for $1,754. The corrections are for 2024 files and were presented to the board as per policy.
