POMEROY– Members the Pomeroy Gun Club enjoyed a clear, sunny, crisp weekend of shooting during week three of the Camas Prairie Competition. The nice weekend that was void of wind resulted in some good scores.
Conditions were a little tougher on the youth shooters on Saturday, but they enjoyed some success. In the 12-year-old and under group Blake Warren shot the best 16-yd. score with a 17X25 score. Shaun Bingman and Josh Hastings had scores of 15. In the handicap for the youngest shooters Bingman posted another 15 and Hastings put up a score of 14.
In the sub-junior competition Luke Collier had a 23 and Carter Barron put up a 22 in the 16-yd. shooting. Collier led the middle group with 20 in Handicap and Rowdy Cole had an 18.
Gunner Magill posted a 24 in the older junior group 16-yd shooting and Mason Garcia had a score of 20. Sawyer Brenner and Colby Ledgerwood had the top Junior scores in handicap with scores of 20.
Ollie Severs and Wayne Tetrick led the adult shooters on Sunday with perfect scores of 25 in 16-yd. shooting. They each have now have recorded two 25s in the first three weeks. Clark Capwell and Robert Desjardin both missed just one target for scores of 24 in week 3. In Adult Handicap. Jeff Hannas and Mason Blachly had the top scores of 22, while Ray Endicott, Riley Bott, Matt Fitzgerald, and Larry Bunch all posted scores of 21.
Severs again rose to the top in Continental shooting with another perfect 25 while Brady Bott, Tracy Hanger and Travis Ledgerwood put up scores of 24. In Doubles Jeff Hannas had the top score of the year so far with a 47X50 score. Larry Bunch and Buck Geiger had scores of 43.
After week two of competition in the 24 Club Tournament the Pomeroy Juniors were in 10th place and the Senior Club sits in 11th.
Shooting will continue this coming Saturday and Sunday at the local club.
